I am on my own in the flat...
... so what am I doing?
Blasting out CDs as loud as I dare and dancing round playing air guitar!
I always wanted to be a rock star... shame I can't actually play any instruments well and lack the patience to learn :)
And someone please tell me how I can own over 200 CD albums, and still have to stand staring at them for 5 minutes before I can find anything I feel like listening to?

I have the same exact problem with my CDs, only I've got closer to 500. Sometimes ya just get sick of every damn one of 'em, and sometimes you're in such an indescribeable mood that you just don't know what's best to put on to complement it.
It's times like those I bust out the Canadian Power Pop. Thank f00k for Aldo Nova, Coney Hatch and The Tea Party! \m/

Increase the available options and one's ability to make a choice decreases.
Now imagine an evening where all your poly-partners are available and horny, but you only have energy for one, what to do?! :)

Hmm, being monogamous, I appear to be missing out on something here!

All my music is matched to a particular mood - one of: music to listen to when depressed and wanting to mope, music to perk myself out of depression, or mellow music to listen to when already in a good mood. And this matching has been emphasised over time by my previous choices of music. I can't help but remember that the last time I listened to a particular CD was the day that X, Y or Z happened...
So when I have to choose a CD, it's not just a case of choosing something I like, because I like all of them. It's a case of choosing something I like that fits the mood I'm in and won't make me suddenly unhappy as I remember some past event that occurred while I was listening to it, or won't annoy me by being too damn perky for my mood, or make me completely hyper if I'm already feeling okay. And that choice is a lot harder.
