OK, following this line from a web page discussing one of PETA's previous offensive adverts: Maybe I'm brainwashed, but when I see a giant bush stroll by in the health club locker room I get kinda scared..., I have urges to take photos of my unshaven crotch and put them on a web site declaring "At least my Bush has a brain".

Please tell me someone's done this already - I need to see it!

Hmm...personally I shave - hell no will I -ever- wax down there, sorry, I have a high pain threshold but that is past the point of idiocy - but honestly I think it's up to each woman to do what they want with their bodies. What they want constituting what they feel and think is right, not what they think 'should' be done - which that advert is kind of saying 'should' be done.

I do kind of side with NOW on this. I'm not morally offended or anything like that, but the implication that a womans natural unshaven state is ugly, even WRONG, which is the idea they're trying to push about wearing fur...I think they should try a better tack with that. I understand they're probably trying to be 'funny' and shit, but...they could try a mans pubes spiralling wildly out of control, but oh...that's accepted.

Yeah, I saw the fatty one too - really nice, to try to get people to convert to vegans by poking fun at them. Whatta great idea...

And not eating meat does NOT make you lose weight, in some cases it can make you gain more.

I guess they're trying popular appeal, trying to hit where it matters on the populace - also, they have this thing about skinning and shaving animals...so it's right to suggest people should do it to themselves? We're animals too...

And yeah, the suffering animal photos really affected me more.

Me, I'm deeply baffled by my literal first exposure to a culture that presumes that shaving the pubic region is a default outside of porn flicks. . . .

PETA appears to have a fair amount of overlap with the variety of maniac that adores every genus other than Homo. And, speaking as someone who's had a run-in or two with PETA's representatives, I think you set yourself up for disappointment by expecting them to behave in a manner that suggests an ability to think logically.

Yeah, they're pretty much the kind of people who want to get to their own end not caring who/what else they insult or step on on the way.

It's like trying to talk to a fundamentalist religious person of any kind - ramming your head into a wall repeatedly.

It's the same with rabid feminists or anyone like that - I'd rather not bother and just stick to my own ideas in my life than join a bunch of really freaky people who might as well be fundamentalist Muslims or something, with their dog headed and sometimes really scary beliefs. Ugh.

It's like anti abortion people killing doctors - where the hell is the logic in that?!
