poetry in mathematics

Before Christmas, I found a paper with a beautiful title in the same volume as a paper I was looking for. It was:

Can you hear the shape of a fractal drum?

I thought that was so evocative and poetic. Of course, I didn't understand the paper at all because it's not even vaguely my field, but it brightened up a horrible, rainy, grey winter's day.

Some of the passages in Neverness are like this.. when mathematics makes it into the arts, there's always some sublime and elegant about it :)
