data presentation headache

Possibly the thing I hate most about writing reports is when you need to present 3-dimensional information in a 2-dimensional space. It's not a problem so much with graphs, because you can rotate the axes to get 3 dimensions on there, but it's really really annoying with text information. I've spent about an hour formatting a simple table so it makes sense. I've ended up separating it into 4 tables, but still my head is threatening to go into meltdown. Aaarrghh!

(This is not a request for advice. Problem is solved. I'm just moaning about it.)
