spammedy spam (the beans are off!)
Aug. 26th, 2003 06:38 pmOh, and the level of spam I get has suddenly tripled again over the weekend. And now I'm getting spam sent to my real email address (the one that all my other addresses point to). That address has never really been public (I think I made two newsgroup posts in my life from it, both by mistake) and has only been used for mailing lists. Except now, spammers trawl Yahoo! Groups. Grrr.
And now I'm having some spammer use one of my email addresses to post stuff from, as I'm getting the bounce messages from it. Bloody hell. I've been deleting them, but I'm now wondering if I should be keeping them "as evidence". Grrr^3, more reasons for aggravation.

Date: 2003-08-26 10:54 am (UTC)It takes the Outlook address book of the infected machine and sends itself to each address in it from each address in it.
So someone you know is infected with this thing, so you're getting a copy of this damned thing "from" each of their friends.
And bounce messages from each of their frineds who have good spam filters.
Welcome to the club, unfortunately.
