Yeah - I never stopped liking it, I've just got a bit bored with it. I'm at the stage where I have several gig of downloads that I haven't even unzipped and categorised, and I've started to get very fussy about what I download - I don't want 10 nearly identical tables anymore!
At the moment I feel that I've done everything I want to with my usual neighbourhood. The sims I've had since the beginning have such high skills now that they run through an entire career in an hour or so of playing! As I have a fairly old, slow computer, I don't particularly enjoy taking the sims away to Vacation Island or Old Town - the game runs so slowly there that it doesn't seem worth playing. When Hot Date came out and they could leave the house for the first time, it was a big thing, but now I just can't be bothered.
However, having said all this: I think when Makin' Magic comes out, I'll probably get a lot more into it again. Because then I can set up my "fantasy" neighbourhood (with Hogwarts characters, elves, anthropomorphic foxes and wolves, etc) and they won't have to have normal jobs. I'm somehow not very convinced by having an elf family who go to work as journalists or in IT...
