Hello.

Yesterday I worked from 9.30am until 8.30pm. Today I worked from 9.30am until 6pm. Tomorrow I am supposed to be working from 9.30am until 8 again, and Thursday and Friday are supposed to be 9.30am-9pm, followed by 11.30am to 7pm on Saturday and 10.30am 'til dunno on Sunday. Hrm. Before anyone says "that's not THAT bad", remember that I am someone who works part time for health reasons. I can't manage 8 hour workdays normally, let alone 9, 10 and 12 hours - that start at 9am! Unsurprisingly I am exhausted and brain-dead and having pain.

Am entirely out of spoons, and can't even find the one I keep stashed down the back of the sofa for emergencies.

I don't actually feel that bad right now - the main thing is I'm absolutely freezing and can't get warm no matter what. I have the laptop on my lap and it's slowly cooking the part of me that's in contact with it, but the heat won't conduct to any of the other parts. Huh.

I just hope I can get to sleep before 3am tonight, or I will be beyond dead tomorrow. It will be true morning of the living dead 1950s style zombie horror flick...

I don't think that sounds 'Not That bad'... IN fact that sounds scary...

That's like 8.5 + 10.5 + (11.5*2) + 7.5 + dunno on Sunday

That is 49.5 (minus any breaks admittedly) + Sunday... Which is NOT part time hours as the average fulltime job is officially 37.5 hours or something and 48 hours max...

Meep! I hope this is not a permanent arrangement.

Natalya - fearing your work hours.

It's half term...

...which means the kiddies don't have "proper" school, and want 20 million hours of extra lessons. So I'm doing my (usual teaching schedule - the few that are on holiday) x 3, or something.

God, yes, I think I would die in about 2 days if I was doing this for more than a week! And yeah, those times do include a couple of hours of breaks and/or travelling (which, if it's fairly quiet on the bus, is actually quite restful) each day. Nonetheless...

Meh half term...

That's scary in terms of teaching, but I guess mega worth it in terms of keeping your clients happy or something... ;(

I don't consider work breaks + travelling proper rest even if it isn't actual rest. I find just being out the house having to ensure I am somewhere stressful. In fact I don't know how long I'd last with your kind of schedule... probably about a week.

I hope you get some chance to flop after this..

Natalya
