I am ill. This morning I was very ill indeed, now I am only slightly ill.

The short story is: you remember that pain in my rib that I've been grumbling about for a couple of months but didn't think was serious enough to go to the doctor with? (after all, I have joint pains and muscle aches in many other parts of me, plus a lopsided ribcage, and scoliosis on that side of my body). I was going to get round to showing it to someone, honest, but buying some new bras seemed to mostly stop it hurting.

Well, it's not a problem with my rib. It's my gall bladder.

This morning involved copious amounts of vomiting and also some screaming in agony and almost fainting. Plus several hours increasingly panicky wait for the doctor's appointment, as I gradually discounted it being food poisoning or excessively bad IBS attack, due to it being in a strange part of my body not associated with my stomach or large intestine. I now have three exciting medications to be taken at confusing intervals (the antiemetic first, wait an hour, then the antibiotic, then wait two hours, then eat, then take the antacid/rehydrating agent) in addition to all the medications I normally have, and a wait for blood test results and referral for a scan to find out whether this is "just" an infection, or if there's something more seriously wrong (like liver dysfunction). Oh joy and bliss.

I'm rapidly running out of parts of my body to go wrong. I'm not sure if this is a good thing.

lots of HUGS! (gently ... and only if welcome, of course!)
I remember someone with gall bladder problems ... he ended up on a very low fat diet for some time. But he did recover. :-) Hope whatever it is is soon cleared up for you.

Gah. I remember hitting that stage with [livejournal.com profile] gridlore...so not an enjoyable sensation, either physically or mentally. *leaves a hug for later*

Not good. Hope this doesn't turn out to be anything long term. *hugs*

Sympathies. I hope the infection goes away soon and the irritation goes down. A tip from when kim was ill was to eat carbs father than fat as they are easier on the gallbladder. Oh and if you have to eat, or need to eat, do it little and often rather than all at once.

Ouch. My gallbladder played up when I had PVS - I know how excruciating it can be.

That sounds awful. I'm sorry.

I have a rather hopeful bad scenario for you, though, as one of my local friends has had her gall bladder removed and is just fine. She can burp on command by pressing a spot on her abdomen, even.

I'm glad you are feeling better now! Fingers crossed it's not something really, really serious.

Yipes! :( I hope it's the infection, even though that doesn't sound awesome either.
