5 hours sleep is not enough. Had to be up at the crack of dawn for a doctor's appointment. He was running late, so I sat in the waiting room for about an hour. This meant that by the time I got home, I'd been conscious for long enough that I couldn't get back into bed and fall asleep again (I tried, it didn't work). So now I'm tired and bad-tempered, and I need to get dressed and go to work, except all I really want to do is sleep.

With shoes & clothes on, I apparently now weigh barely 11 stone, a.k.a. 70 kg. Are there 14 pounds in a stone? If so, that's 154 lb. I haven't weighed this little in... 6 or 7 years?

But, you put that into a BMI chart, and I still come out with a BMI somewhere between 28 and 29. "Healthy", for someone of my height, is supposedly 50-60kg. The only time I've weighed as little as 50kg since becoming an adult was when I essentially had an eating disorder - denying myself food to punish bad behaviour. There's no way these hips could ever go down to 50kg without me being very unhealthy indeed.

And, even when I was a size 20, I had a 28" waist. I'm not sure what it is now, and being late for work means I need to get clothes on rather than faffing about finding a tape measure :)

My conclusion for some time has been that there are clearly people for whom the BMI scale is a load of rubbish.

Um, according to the BMI charts in the UK, *I* am just about overweight. I mean, I was before I got pregnant. Now I'm probably obese. So that's a load of balls.

I mean, we know this, right?

You now weigh less than I did at 8 months pregnant. That's not a lot, to me. I got a lot bigger before I got smaller. I was *well* overweight by the books' standards, but *everyone* thought I looked fine. Weight is not a particularly useful measure of health, to my mind.

I wonder how much the BMI vs weight is different for women than men. My perfect BMI would have me being 10 stone. I am 10.7 at the moment. I can get down to 10 stone by cutting out fat and a lot of carbs. Though experience has taught me to lose any less I would have to be on a starvation diet or to be severly dehydrated.
