kixie's mum, brian1789's wife and the_siobhan all had hysterectomies this week. What's the chance of three people you're vaguely connected to having the same operation around the same time?
(Okay, okay - I know it wasn't the same operation - and they were all done for different reasons, I think. But it's still coincidental.)
What are the chances? Dunno. I get the impression that doctors are trying to do fewer hysterectomies nowadays because of all the flack they've had from doing too many in the past. I wish all the women concerned the best, though I don't know any of them.
We need more competant gynaecologists - I could give a rat's ass about the genetalia of the person who is cutting me open as long as their skill level is up to my standards.

Feedback is welcome.
A very good and well laid-out site for general information, but I find I have no trouble finding general information through the web, hospital handouts, and other sources. Finding a site that contains more in-depth information but that is still accessable to non-medical people is a lot trickier.
The main idea for the site is to act as a source of handouts (hence the emphasis on PDF printer friendly downloads).
Adding in further in-depth information for non-medical people is possible. I will pass on the suggestion to the consultant writing for the site. He needs a kick to write more.
