It somehow doesn't surprise me to learn that Maxis are taking lessons in surreality from Monty Python :)

Yes, it's Unleashed. Which will be on sale here in all of 5 hours *bounce*. No, I'm not going to stay up until the shops open... at least, I hope I'm not!

I'm actually not very interested in The Sims Online. I wrote some stuff about it on the Sims forum that I go to, but never copied it over to my journal. I suppose I should:

"It is quite simple, if you are not into social interaction with other people, you won't enjoy the Sims Online, but if you do, it will be your thing."

That's not quite true in my case. I love irc and livejournal - I've been talking to people online through one thing or another for 8 years now, and never get tired of it. However, I don't enjoy roleplaying. The Sims for me isn't roleplaying - it's storytelling. Some of my sims are based on real people, but I don't make them act like they do in real life. (Actually, a lot of the humour in my game is about my sims doing something particularly like or unlike the real-life person they're based on!).

I don't think I want to play TSO because instead of making up stories about people who don't exist and talking to people who do, suddenly people who do exist will be coming into my stories - with all their own ideas for how the story should go. And I don't want that. I like to keep the two things separated.
