baratron | weekend, PS2 & new Sims

Good weekend. Not much happened - Alexa was over and we played Jak & Daxter. It's not bad - nowhere near as complex or brain-intensive as Ratchet & Clank, but about a million times better than Spyro 4, which was bitterly disappointing. (We liked Spyro The Dragon, really liked Spyro 2: Gateway to Glimmer (called "Ripto's Rage" in the US), and absolutely loved Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon. Thus we begged our dear friends to buy Spyro 4: Enter the Dragonfly as soon as it was released. This was a mistake. It sucks. Produced by a different software company to the first three, it has been slowed down and turned into a game that the average 8 year old would find too easy. Plus, it has more bugs than the average beta. It has more bugs than The Sims even, which is saying a lot!). We visited the aforementioned dear friends, and Richard went paintballing. We saw my mum in hospital on Friday and Monday - she was very subdued on Friday but quite perky today, despite feeling much more ill today - she may not be released on Wednesday after all.

Alexa kept making the same mistake all weekend: she kept starting Vorkosigan books before bed. This is not something you want to do if you want to get to bed. If it's your sort of book and you start it, you can't put it down until you've finished it, no matter how late it is. Hence this morning I got up to go to the loo at 11.30am, and she was still up reading Memory. Oops.

There is yet another Sims expansion pack coming out. Waah! Must buy *twitch*, *twitch*.
