When I'm in that state I read on screen with the font turned up to 200%, using a wheel mouse on a USB extension cord or a radio mouse if I can afford the batteries and/or don't have an extension cord handy. There's a surprising abount of good short fiction (and a few novels too) out there on creative commons license.
