Am brain-fried by the heat. Have copious amounts of paperwork & Important Stuff to do but can't concentrate at all at the moment. Don't post to tell me how I'm lucky because the UK isn't anywhere near as hot as [insert other location here], I'm the sort of person who's built for a temperate climate.

This is funny: Save the Pacific Northwest Tree Octopus. I will have to tell my Seattle friends to look out for Tree Octopi. There are quite a few "serious" links on that page too.

True: but London is likewise less humid than Toronto or Japan, which are both places I want to visit. In Toronto during July/August, the temperatures regularly reach 30 degrees C, and I felt like I would melt. In Nice and Monaco it was around 30 deg C in April, but dry enough that it felt pleasantly warm rather than horrible.

I don't know how to make myself better able to cope with humid weather. At the moment in the daytime I have to wipe my forehead with a tissue every couple of minutes, or have sweat drip into my eyes, which is disgusting. I could stop taking the antidepressants I'm on which have excessive sweating as a side-effect, but then I'd become non-functional again.
