I really should clear out most of the links that have sat in my Opera window for several weeks, again. But I'm too tired for coherent posts. So...

(Seriously, I have never understood why people see a conflict between evolution and existence of deity. To me, mutation and natural selection are the ways in which $deity creates new species, assembling living organisms molecule by molecule and tinkering with genes. The deity I believe in is the ultimate experimental scientist.)

The other links I have are all video game-related, and none of them are anywhere near as awesome as the snake with leg, so I'll save them for another time.

Guitar Hero Comes to DS. This is either going to be the most awesome DS game of all time, or it's going to fail horribly. There is no middle ground.

Europe Totally Fucked Over On Rock Band Pricing, and Harmonix blames VAT. Er, yes, that 120% VAT. Y'know, I am pretty much the biggest Harmonix fangirl of all time (I liked them before Guitar Hero! And I got into Freezepop because of Frequency instead of the other way round!), but even I think that's pretty lame. Yes, we in Europe know that it costs money to translate the game into whatever billion languages the EU stipulates games must be sold in, and we also know that for some reason it costs money to do PAL to NTSC conversion... but why forgodsake can't North America subsidise us? Why do we get to pay more in pounds than the US does in dollars? I know several people who actually can't afford to buy Rock Band now. Grrrr.

Sony Wants To Know Why You're Hacking Your PSP. *snicker*. Personally, I'd go with "Hacking is a fun and creative way to play with my PSP". Though the last time I actually did any hacking was on the BBC B (I'm so not a coding geek).

Retro Sabotage. Old-school video games "remixed" as Flash. Of course there is sound! The Pong remix Vectrexoscope must be what playing on the Virtual Boy was like. The PacMan remixes True Self and What Next aren't particularly well Photoshopped (and you have to play quite a lot of PacMan before you get to the funny part), but made me laugh when I did get there. The Space Invaders remix Happy New Year and Breakout remix Balance are hilarious. Photosensitive epileptics may need to beware PacMan: The Morning After. The Space Invaders remix Invasion and Xevious remix Autopsy of a Battlefield are thought-provoking, while the Tetris remix Compromise is actually philosophical. Both Compromise and the Breakout remix Build On are remarkably playable as games in their own right.
