my mum: I bought you a blanket. I hope you like it.

baratron: Oh! We thought it was yours. We were saying we'd have to acquire it if it stayed here much longer... [she has a habit of doing her washing here and then leaving it lying around for days]
my mum: You mean you actually like something I bought you?
baratron: Yes!
gerwinium: It's really nice!
my mum: Well, I could have bought you one too, but you'd need a bigger one because of your size...
baratron: Mum! You'll make him paranoid!
my mum: No, I didn't mean he's fat, he's skinny! I meant that he's long. You're very long, aren't you, Peter?
We giggle. Peter looks embarrassed.
baratron: Now that you've finished insulting my friends...
meeping: Because of course, that's your job!
