Yesterday Richard and I both woke up hideously early because there was a massive thunderstorm going on. We couldn't get back to sleep because of the noise, and it went on for so long that by the time it went away we were too awake to sleep again. So we got up and went shopping. I had a Boots voucher which was about to expire, so we bought stuff from there, went to Computer Exchange just because we were passing :) and over to Tesco's to stock up with food and Lemon Tango. (See the effects of Lemon Tango on innocent North Americans). We went out before lunch, and didn't get in until about 6pm. So we were thoroughly shopped out. Bleh.

One of the things I bought from Computer Exchange was a Japanese game called Motteke Tamago with Ganbare Kamonohasi. I picked it up because the graphics were so cute, not because I knew it would be a good game. In fact, I had no idea what sort of game it was because it, and its instruction book, are entirely in Japanese. I had a good look through the instruction book but couldn't work out what I needed to do at all. Luckily, on loading the game it became obvious. You are a cute little platypus who needs to collect eggs and wait for them to hatch into baby platypi. You are competing against other creatures who will turn the eggs into babies of their species. It's very silly, and much fun. Apparently it can be played by up to four players, so we'll have to try that next time I have friends over.

And if that wasn't surreal enough, we discovered in Boots that our usual brand of condoms have been relabelled again. Now they say on the back "The slightly closer fit of this condom can, for differing reasons, be more pleasurable for some men". Talk about tripping over your own advertising campaign in euphemisms! For differing reasons, indeed! Richard and I discussed setting up our own condom marketing with labels such as "You've got a small penis, get used to it", but we reckoned they wouldn't sell.

The only bit I could understand was that it is best played with many players and suggested having a party for this game. Or something like that anyway.

Well, that's a start.

Another web search today revealed a review in English (http://ncsx.com/ncs0427/jrnl0428.htm). Unfortunately, it didn't tell us anything we hadn't managed to work out for ourselves. It is a really good multiplayer game though, so having a party for it would be about right :)
