To quote someone else, I'm not filling in the crush meme, so if you're wondering if a mystery hit is mine, then wonder no more. I think most of the people I have crushes on know about them already, but if you are wondering, feel free to ask :) Or I could post a filtered friends entry visible only to those people... ah, that's too much like effort :) And I'm not exactly seeking new relationships at the moment anyway (long story, complicated, lots of ouch mostly affecting the other people concerned :/ )

I am oddly amused by the following recipe, from a vegan website:

Carrot Soup

Ingredients (use vegan versions):
carrots
potatoes
water
ground black pepper
ground ginger

Um... how do I check whether my carrots, potatoes and water are suitable for vegans or not?

I think you're OK as long as they don't say "moo."

I believe Sainsbury's are now rearing pork-fed carrots for their taste the difference range. Jamie thinks they're the bees knees. :)

I find that a lot of people just put "(use vegan versions)" in on all recipes because you never know what someone is going to come back screaming at you about after you post. There are many things that some vegans don't care about that others think is a big deal. (Sugar, for example: Granulated white sugar is typically bleached using bone char, I gather, and some vegans will raise high hell if you post a recipe that calls for sugar without such a note.)

I can't see anything on the list that I'm aware of any issues with, however.
