Linda McCartney sausages and sausage rolls are officially vegan. So there is no need for me to inflict the scary Vegetarians' Choice vegan sausages on the Tim any longer ;) (I quite like them, but they're very odd. And they give me indigestion if I eat them when they've gone cold).

I have been eating teh vegan bacon all week. Now all I need is for someone to invent vegan bacon that's actually good for you... ;)

By definition bacon of all forms must be a sinful decadence. To try to achieve otherwise you end up with the heresy that is Turkey Rashers. I imagine the vegan varient would be something akin to baconbits flavoured riveta.

This one is seriously good - suitably greasy, and with "meat" and "fat" textured bits. The "fat" bit even goes crispy the way real bacon does.

Believe me, I've eaten enough salty cardboard "fake bacon"s in my life to be highly cynical, so the fact that meat eaters have found this one palatable says quite a lot.

Indeed, but I fear your quesst for healthiness would remove the joy obviously apparent in this most wonderful of vegan foodstuffs.

I myself shall continue to eat of the pig with much gusto, but then each unto their own, eh? :)

The problem with toad is the egg in it - the alternative to egg in a savoury thing would involve something like that terrifying egg replacement powder, which is pure soy protein and would probably kill Peter. Or at least maim him.

But you can have toad, and I can just have the sausages.
