Probably not, thanks very much for the offer. I'd love to go to Ikea, but I don't see how without a car, plus we're right in the middle between two of them & it's about a gazillion miles to Bristol. :-(

If you ever find yourself up this way, Croydon Ikea is perfectly accessible without a car. Train to Wimbledon, Tramlink to Ampere Way. The tram stop is immediately outside Ikea.
I'm pretty sure there isn't an Ikea in Southampton... not according to the website either. We tried to drive to the one in Croydon once and it's definitely a very very long way from the M25, not at all like the map in the back of the catalogue. I guess the tram is okay if you want small things though.
