Argh! If you weren't already sick of me moaning about my health, here's some more "good" news. Today I woke up with a totally blocked up nose and a congested chest. I think I might have an infection of some sort. Reason is, my gall bladder is still hurting badly (four days after it started - this kind of length of episode isn't just a stone moving around), I'm profoundly wheezy and short of breath, and I haven't been out of the house since Friday nor in contact with anyone who's got a cold. I'm unsure if I have a fever, because I've been taking paracetamol (among other things) for the pain, and that generally reduces fever. "Hooray." Got to get out of bed at the crack of dawn to see the emergency GP in the morning, & hope it's someone nice, & make an appointment to see my GP while I'm there.

OK, as you were. Please continue to post about interesting, good things happening in your lives. I need the distraction :)

Oh dear, hope it wasn't my germs that I shared - if so, I advise not then spending a day at an exhibition talking to people, it does nothing good to help the normal lack-of-voice after such things.

What is the incubation period of a cold? (And don't say "I don't know, you're the scientist"!). I didn't think it was as long as 4 days, but it could be - I mean, chicken pox is a virus, and it's contagious for 21 days. Then again, I still don't think this is a cold. It's low-level snottiness & wheeziness & streamy eyes & sore throat, which could just as easily be allergies, hyperventilation, or a bacterial infection emerging victorious from my gall bladder to colonise my lungs.

sorry to drop in on you out of nowhere, but I saw your link to your sims2 LJ on MATY, and then clicked through to here.

I just wanted to tell you that I feel your pain with the gallstones - I developed a severe case of them in early September (two weeks of intense pain, with no painkillers actually working at all, because my normal GP was on holiday, and the temp one only orderd a sonograph, which didn't show anything, and not bloodwork, which would have clearly shown where the problem was, and so they started looking for other possible causes). Having the stones removed orally was very quick and totally painless. During the procedure, they also cut an internal muscle between the intestines and the gall exit, so that any further stones will pass a lot easier.

I did have the whole gallbladder removed at the beginning of October, via lap... er. via the surgery type with only the small cuts.

So, if you ever want any details about either procedure, let me know.
