Why does this shit always happen to meee?

Having got to the airport and through security with loads of time to spare, now my flight is delayed an unspecified but large amount of time due to a "security breach" - they're making us go through screening again. Except mostly we're just standing around in a queue. And I've had to throw away the water I just bought from the Tim Hortons inside the gates. Argh!

I'm glad we finally found out what happened! Although now I'm even more annoyed. I'd hoped(?) it was actually something worthwhile, but instead it was just some people who made a mistake. In ye olde days (before The War on Some Terrorists), if you got to the gate with something that was prohibited on the plane, you'd be given a padded envelope and told to write your name & address on it so it could be mailed back to you. Nowadays, those poor elderly people, who are almost certainly guilty only of being forgetful, will have been spent several hours in pure terror and possibly now face criminal charges; while an entire terminal-full of people were left frightened, annoyed and inconvenienced by the over-reaction.
