baratron: (octopus!)

I am oddly cuted by the Flickr: Octopus on yo head photo pool which [livejournal.com profile] mactavish found by accident.

I am unsurprisingly cuted by the knitted octopus which [livejournal.com profile] nitoda found in the [livejournal.com profile] knitting community.

But nothing, nay, nothing comes close to the sheer awesomeness of the crocheted squid scarf found by [livejournal.com profile] j00j, which is unbelievably cool. I WANT ONE! In h-l-safe plant or synthetic fibres please, and perhaps bright pink & purple rather than orange... Will pay for squid!

I love that little blue octopus. :)

What are h-l-safe plant fibers? (I know what a h-l is)

I don't knit, or I might try.

I seem to be allergic to many animal fibres. I have serious issues with wool and lanolin, and alpaca fibre (which apparently most people who are allergic to wool can use) feels scratchy and rough and like it's causing 101 little cuts and abrasions. I don't seem to be allergic to silk, but I won't wear it because it generally involves killing the silkworms.

I get on fine with cotton and bamboo though.
