You lot are all crap because I posted I have an interview at Birkbeck College at 6pm on Thursday but no one has commented on that post. It's nice to know that you all think I'm so fantastic I don't need luck, but I'd still like some good thoughts. Especially as my feeling a bit eurgh has become a full-blown virus with sore throat and fever. I shall warn the interviewer that I need to sit at the other side of the room to spare him from my germs, and that my brain is fried so he might need to give me more time to think.

Also I got the transcript of my degree from Imperial this morning, and it is Lying. At least, it shows my awesome achievement of 29% (fail) for Organic I in 1994-5, but doesn't include the resit result in 1995-6. It includes my other resits, so I don't know why that one was left out. Still, it gives me scope to talk about why I thought I was crap at organic chemistry.

I must confess that, having looked at it again, I remember seeing the part about vegan festival, but I don't think I actually read as far as the interview bit. You did put "interview" in the title, but I often miss post subjects (maybe I should adjust my friends page styles to make them clearer...).

I'm sure you don't need luck, but I do hope the interview goes well. And as you've mentioned it, do try and not spend too much time talking about why you thought you were crap at organic chemistry relative to the amount of time you spend talking about why you are not crap at organic chemistry and will do well in this course. :-)

Erm, what they said! I remember the noodling about whether or not to apply, but missed this bit, possibly because of the talking about noodles (and other vegan things...)

Have a good luck wish anyway.

That should be do-able considering the next page contains a rather good 86% for Organic IIa. Now personally, I think I got 86% for Organic I in the resit, and 75% for Organic IIa, but uh... whatever :)

I missed that one somehow - good luck, may there be no spores or perfumes to blight your professional image, may there be no banana peels under your trike wheels or on the steps of the bus, and may your fever remain under control enough that you don't actually hallucinate.

Sorry, didn't see your last post - I'm (for obvious reasons) not 100% up to the minute on LJ for the time being. Good luck!

Eek. My brain is still playa-fried, so I haven't been commenting much of anywhere lately; I'm sorry I didn't recognize that this needed to be somewhere I made a stop. :-/ I believe in you. *hug*

*hug* Apologies for being crap. The very best of luck for your interview - I hope you feel well and cheerful and it all goes swimmingly :)

That's what you get for hiding the important bits in the third paragraph after the descriptions of vegan food and snot.

Good luck with the interview!

(anyway, 29% isn't too bad - I'm looking at a mark of 12% on my transcript)

Never let it be said I don't have my priorities in the right order!

1. Is there anything to eat?
2. Can I breathe?
3. So, how about that work stuff...?

:)

What was your 12% for?

It was for Number Theory, in my first year; I left after half an hour, having answered only half of one question. I'd been revising solidly for a week for that paper (it was a week after the rest of my exams), and went completely blank when I got into the exam room...

Oops - managed to miss that one too.

Probably I was reading it on my mobile phone, which doesn't always help.

Good Luck!

Ooh! I will be thinking of you. I think that 6 pm for you is maybe 10 am or 11 am for me?

It is good that you've already met the interviewer and have some rapport. Then you can start out having a conversation without worrying quite as much about the first-impressions stuff. Definitely tell the interviewer about having a head temporarily full of crud - and take water with you, and tissues, so you're not too distracted by biology.

Oops! Greatest of luck with the interview and with getting rid of the virus first.
As others have commented, it just proves that what they say about composing email in business - keep it to a single issue and if you need to address several issues do so in separate messages - also applies to Livejournal posts. I certainly didn't read past the vegan stuff, personally. Cos I am eeeeevil carnivore, see!
