There is clearly something very wrong with the HelloQuizzy/OKcupid Nerd? Geek? or Dork? Test. It says that I am a Pure Nerd: 91% Nerd, 35% Geek, 39% Dork!

It then goes on to define a Nerd as someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia, a Geek as someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one, and a Dork as someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions. And, I suppose with those definitions, I'm a Nerd. I mean, here I am going back to university "for fun". However, I swear I'm a geek, not a nerd! I feel insulted to be called a nerd!

This was exactly the reaction I had when it told me I was a Pure Nerd. I am clinging to my right to self-identify as a geek though!

I scored 78 % Nerd, 9% Geek, 26% Dork, even more pure nerd by their definitions: but then they never asked about what I suppose I would consider my particular, geeky, interests - perhaos the same for you?

I think they have american college students in mind which rather skews the weltanschung of the test, maybe Freezepop, Pokemon or Octupi were just not in the test writer's headspace.

There was a great obsession with TV SF, which I simply have no interest in. Similarly with movies - the only movies that I quote from regularly are Kevin Smith's, and even then it's odd phrases rather than half the script.

There was a surprising lack of questions about gaming, iirc.
