Let's see if Xjournal can manage not to crash this time...

Haven't been posting recently because I've either had enough energy to do things, or enough energy to write about things - and I'd rather be doing things than writing about them. Actually, I have four or five half-written posts that I need to come back to at some point soon, but most evenings I'm too tired to do anything other than play the Sims or read. Damn my lack of spoons!

Anyway, today I got a new phone. I've noticed that a lot of the information in it is horribly out of date, so here is a poll to update that:

[Poll #1742716]
Note: unless you're a close friend, I'd arrange a time to call via email or text message. I'm too anxious to make unsolicited phone calls :/

Those answers make almost no sense in relation to one another, I realize, but I was attempting to acknowledge that there are some topics that don't work in a text-message format, and in those cases, calling my cell is best.

I don't do much social chatting on the actual phone. I'm much more likely to use Skype for that. I do text quite a bit, though.

My cell phone is almost never on (it has two states: "off" and "battery dead"), so e-mail is generally the way to go.

I tend to leave my mobile on silent or divert-to-voicemail if I am busy or asleep, so attempting to call any time is fine.

However, if you leave a voicemail, I don't know who has called until I get around to checking my voicemail, which I often don't do for some time, but I'll see a text message much faster. So I prefer texts to voicemails (I even prefer missed calls to voicemails if the message is basically "call me back").

Email greatly preferred over anything phonebased, where possible.

as you know i'm not a very phone-person and generally prefer texts/email unless i'm having an extra-dyslexic day so that speech is easier. Of course that would be a lot easier of not-me-people were able to somehow magically know in advance that it's one of the (pretty rare) occasions when i'm struggling with reading!

landphones are much easier on my hearing than mobiles - i suspect i'm not alone i this
