Going to Boston.
Jan. 13th, 2012 11:03 pmI'm off to the US between Thurs 26th & Sun 29th January. Does anyone need anything brought over/taken back? Speak now if you want chocolate that is only available in one location! Or anything else, as long as it's legal and moral.
I think I'll be staying near Coolidge Corner stop on the Green line, in Brookline, MA. Please let me know if you're a Bostonian & want to meet up. So far I have
bitty,
bubblebabble,
lilairen,
treacle_well and
xiphias down as locals.
I should have a US phone number (though it's dependent on the SIM I bought in Florida still working), and I'll have a
hoopycat and a
veryfineredwine with me from Friday to Sunday. No Richard though, because we can't afford for both of us to travel. You should not, however, read anything untoward into his absence - we are still sickeningly happy together & getting married on 1st Feb :)
I am planning to eat lots of vegan pizza.

Date: 2012-01-13 11:56 pm (UTC)Oh! Green & Blacks *milk* chocolate, if you can find it? I don't normally like milk chocolate, but theirs was really dark for a milk chocolate - their dark chocolate is good too, but it's easier to find good dark chocolate than it is good milk chocolate.

Date: 2012-01-14 01:31 am (UTC)(Particularly since I'm trying to be better about how much sugar is in my diet - I've pretty much managed to get rid of High Fructose Corn Syrup entirely the vast majority of the time, but even normal simple carbohydrates make my arthritis worse, so I'm trying to be smarter about it. But sometimes you do just want a bit of something sweet but tasty.) (Normal milk chocolate tends to register as 'sweet' but not so much 'tasty' to me. :) )
Just nothing with Stealth Shellfish in it. ;) (... And now I am going to go to bed pondering chocolate-dipped prawns and my dreams will probably be very weird.)

oh, and this is unlikely to be vegan friendly, but still worth a mention:

Date: 2012-01-20 01:43 pm (UTC)Well, I'm unable to do any of the Saturday afternoon events, but I could make it to Harvard for Friday night, Saturday as of around 6, or Sunday. I suspect we should make any reservations in advance. Haven't looked at prices, but assume they're high. I think the treasure hunt is the most fun and cheap but not conveniently scheduled for me.
Or, I could just bring you to Burdick's any time. Esp. since I can drink soy hot chocolate :)
