[Poll #1872578]Apparently, I have a type. And that type is "depressed emperors".

Specifically: intelligent, introspective emperors who have just suffered an incredibly traumatic event that's left them with PTSD & having to rapidly come to terms with a massive change in worldview; who have only a handful of friends in the world who see them as a man rather than a figurehead; who are desperately lonely and scared.

Gregor Vorbarra, you have a lot to answer for. But at least you're in a book. A whole series of books, in fact, and you gradually become less emo as you grow older.

Martin Septim is in a 6 year old video game, with crappy textures, a scary lack of facial animations, & what we in the Sims community call "broken-ass wooden hair" (i.e. his long hair isn't meshed to move). And he's voiced by Sean Bean. If I admit to fancying him, people might think I have a thing about Sean Bean. I totally don't! I might fancy his Martin voice, but that's really not the same as fancying him. It's the emo emperor and his scripted tragedy that does it for me.

And nothing wrong with that! It's just that I don't.

According to Tumblr, every character played by Sean Bean has to die. To the point where this should actually be considered a spoiler for the game.

All the more Sean Bean for me! :)

And yes, he does have a tendency to die horribly in everything he's in. :)

Darleen in Roseanne was a formative crush so I'm trying to tickybox this one both ways :)

But I don't think I have that strong a response to anyone in fictional worlds in recent times.

I thought you were well-known, indeed FAMOUS, for your Epic Appreciation of Wenches in Doctor Who?

Or is that someone else who just looks like you?

Serious eyecandy versus crush. I think of them as different anyway! I don't worry over whether it is that I want to (a) be or (b) have Amy Pond!

If it's tuning in mostly to admire the pretty rather than for "following the plot" reasons I will have to rewrite my answer quite substantially...

(also, if LJ had a "like" button I'd be clicking it on that comment so hard...)

sadly "The Girl who Waited" showed you can't have 2 Amys in one tardis

Susan Ivanova (Babylon 5), Temperance "Bones" Brennan (Bones (TV, not books) and Ziva David (NCIS).

I guess my type is highly competent kick-ass brunettes.

Also, Bones is that incredibly rare thing, a universe where I prefer the TV series based on the books to the books themselves.

If I had to pick from the Vorkosiverse, I'd pretty much go for Miles' love interests: Taura, Elena, Elli, Bel
