I've spent all the hours I've been awake today wrapping Christmas presents. I am now officially sick of Christmas.

Most of my friends hate the shopping part of Christmas. I, on the other hand, love it. I love choosing presents for people - picking the perfect gift for someone, or making a present if that would be more appropriate. I even spend time choosing something special for relatives that I'm obliged to give gifts to - if I'm going to spend money on them, I may as well get something appropriate.

What I hate is wrapping presents. Wrapping one present is just a pain. Wrapping many is tedious. And then wrapping them in protective packaging: bubble wrap and boxes, to keep safe in the post is just... mind-numbingly boring. Plus all the dust from the paper makes me wheeze. Blah.

if i lived in London! Not that i get creative with it or anything - simple straightforward rather butch packaging is what you get, but still. It's the shopping, selection, *having to* give presents angle of Christmas that used to upset me and is why I've largely opted out of the whole shebang these days. There's just so much crap in the shops! I can't believe how much money is wasted!
