Unfortunate link of the day.
Mar. 14th, 2003 02:05 amYou called your baby WHAT?!. I had to stop reading after page 4, because my brain was threatening to melt.
Some of those names wouldn't be that bad if they were spelled correctly, but I'm sorry: Tayler Emmaleigh? Kellyna Nychole? Argh!

Date: 2003-03-13 08:38 pm (UTC)My mum teaches 7 - 11 yr old kids and you go into the class there's hundreds of kelseighs, kayleighs, daisy's and all the boys seem to be called Joshua or some variant of. Its truly painful to call out the register (I have tried hard not to cringe seeing these ghastly names on the display boards).
I think Too many Y error - which isn't unique to bad kids names
Too many dodgy city names a la Madi(y)son.
Too much addition of 'lyn(n)(e) to make a name sound twice as awful as it ever did.
That said I'm gonna get round to changing my name to Natalya, cos my birthname is actually a more Anglicised/French version (whcih I hate).
Who knows what people will hate, some people like having a double-barreled name and dislike it being shortened, some (often Americans) seem to shorten it to things like C J and use that as a 'name'. Personal preference I guess.
Good thing I'm never having kids, I'd probably end up calling them after computers or something, that or lizards.
