Having recently reorganised our bookshelves, I'm trying to trace everything I've lent out to people. Here's a list of books and videos - if you have borrowed something from me, please confirm whether or not you still have it - and if you think you've given it back to me, roughly when that was.

"Genderflex" book of short stories - lent to [livejournal.com profile] the_kumquat when we were both still going to LBG (2000?). Don't think I've had it back, but if I have, I've lent it out again to someone else.

"Dreamsnake" by Vonda McIntyre - lent to [livejournal.com profile] lilfurrydan in 2001 (I think). Do you have anything else of mine? You can keep the Clerks video - we're going to buy it on DVD.

"But I'm a Cheerleader" DVD - lent to [livejournal.com profile] aegidian. I have 2 DVDs of his in return ("Clerks Uncensored" and "Dogma Special Edition").

Various books lent to [livejournal.com profile] ceno - I know "Microserfs" by Douglas Coupland is one of them, what are the others? Not really in a hurry for these, I'd just like to know what I gave you.

"Coraline" by Neil Gaiman - lent to [livejournal.com profile] meeping. Not in a hurry to have this back. I have your "Why Buses Come in Threes" book and "Only Forward" by Michael Marshall Smith.

"Harry Potter & The Philosopher's Stone" - lent to my mum.

Anyone have anything else? [livejournal.com profile] overconvergent, do you still have Richard's LaTeX book with the disturbing lion on the front? Or has it been left in IC for me somewhere?

Yes, I know I could do this in email, but there are too many items whose location I'm really not sure about, so this seems like a better way to reach everyone.

Nice to see that's still kicking around...

Oh, sure! It's only lent to him, not given :) Global karma from passing books around is a Good Thing.

Individual karma from getting books back is even better. I really must catalogue my library so that I know what I've loaned...

Oh, sorry! I thought you gave it to me - you sent it because you didn't need it anymore! If you want it back, I'll send it as soon as I have it again!

Good heavens, no! I don't need it any more (I was given the hardback not lon after I bought myself the paperback), so you're more than welcome to keep it, lend it out, give it away or whatever. Okay, so I'd be a bit put out if you burnt it, but the book is yours to do with as you choose.

The reason I want to catalogue my books if because I have a tendency to lend out books which I'm rather attached to, of which I only have one copy, and which are rather hrad to come by...
