I had to wake up at 9am to ring the doctor and make an appointment. It's an entirely routine doctor's appointment: I've run out of repeats on my prescription & have to see an actual doctor, and it was urgent more by dint of the fact I've been trying to get through to someone at the surgery all flippin' week than for any medical reason. Somehow, I managed to get an appointment for this evening at 5pm, rather than this morning, which means I could have theoretically gone back to sleep. Except my body didn't want me to, for reasons unknown.

So I've had 5 or 6 hours sleep and I feel HORRIBLE! and it's all very ironic that while managing to obtain an appointment at a sensible time of day, I didn't get any more sleep than if I'd had to go straight down there for 9.50am :/ Blah!

Heh. My surgery is that bad. I only ended up getting an appointment with my GP because my MIL made the appointment with the GP while SHE was seeing him.

Then I only got my flu jab because he gave it to me while I was there.

It is ridiculous.

Our doctors has a web system for booking appointments. At 18:30 the day before some appointments are released in addition to those which have been available more in advance.

I love this system as it it saves the whole 08:30 sitting on hold pointlessly thing, and allows you a bit of flexibility in choosing an appointment time.

I don't think I'd ever go back to having a GP without it, so I just have to hope the university medical service don't care that I graduated 2 years ago and might not be going back...
