Did Wilkins know about the Randall letter before he died, I wonder? I was at Wilkins'80th birthday party and after some drinks we asked him about Franklin - her biog had just been published. He said they should have treated her better - she wasn't easy to work with. And it was the 50s and things were different then. But we should have treated her better"
Didn't really like to pry any further. He was a lovely bloke to work with in the 90s, though. Unlike Watson who came to visit my&his college and was clearly an arrogant arse.
